The Br80 was designed to light shunting and station pilot duties.  39 were built from 1927-1929.

Many were passed onto industrial operators. Their small size and long life meant that 7 still exist in preservation.

The Br80 is very popular in model form, due to its small size - many people started in the hobby with a Br80 in a train set.
