Announced at the Meaux Eurotrack Show - REE intend to produce the NORD 141A.  Model numbers and liveries will be announced as soon as we find out more from REE.  Please forgive the delivery date - these projects are best achieved by taking the time to get it right - The main stumbling block is the Nord livery  -no one seems to know what the actual colour is - Chocolate contains many shades of brown.

During 1916 the NORD and PLM ordered 2-8-2 locomotives to be built by Baldwin, Philadelphia based on the PLM 141A Design.  The PLM design was selected as the NORD company needed a modern mixed traffic locomotive in a hurry in order to bolster their fleet that was being stretched by the war.
The NORD ordered 100, however 50 were lost when the ship carrying them was sunk in the Atlantic. (Wikipedia.fr fact - this has been surprisingly difficult to confirm - I am interested to hear if this is correct, or not)
The 50 surviving locomotives were registered as NORD 4.1101 to 4.1150.  Under the SNCF they became 2-141 A 1 to 2-141 A 50.
The locomotives were retired during the early 1950s as poor maintenance during WW2 had taken a heavy toll on them.
