The SNCF received 77 of the USATC (United States Army Transportation Corps) S100 wartime shunting locomotives. In France they were called 030 TU.
This locomotive was shipped all over the world to assist logistics in the final stages of WWII and to replace losses of locomotive.
A handful remained in the UK and many could be found in Austria, Greece, Italy, Yugoslavia. Others went to Iran, China and North Africa.
