All Lenz O Locomotives Feature DCC Sound, smooth high performance motors and Lights that change with the direction of travel.  Each Loco also has automatic system recognition for DCC (Digital) and conventional (Analog) operation.

Please note that these are limited run models and Lenz go to extraordinary lengths to make sure that their level of excellence is maintained.   This can result in production delays as errors are addressed.  


The Br89 has arrived.  The Br94 are available to special order

No. 56 217 DR Version.
The DRG took the Prussian built Br55 0-8-0 and re-built them as 2-8-0 locomotives. The conversion increased the running speed and decreased the axle loading so that the Br56.2 could run on branch lines.  They were now suitable for passenger trains as well as freight. 691 were originally converted and 368 entered DB service.  They ran until 1968 in the West and 1970 in the East.

No.55 3788 DB Version.
Constructed between 1913 and 1921 to a design  by Robert Garbe the G8.1 was an important machine. Deliberately designed to be heavy for great traction without sanding the G8.1 could only be used on main lines, nevertheless, over 5,000 of them were built for the K.P.E.V. plus export.   Around 1,000 remained in Germany in the 1950s and the last was withdrawn from the DB network in 1972.
 691 G8.1 were converted to Br56.2 by adding a leading bissel truck that reduced axle load, increased stability at speed and allowed these locomotives to work on branch lines.

94 1538 is preserved on the Rennsteig line - one of the steep lines that made these locomotives famous.
1,242 Locomotives were built to the Prussian T16.1 design, between 1913 and 1924.  They were designed for heavy shunting and short distance trip working, however it was found that they had superb traction on step inclines.  This allowed them to replace rack fitted locos and many Br94 locomotives were fitted with Riggenbach counter-pressure brakes
(Riggenbach-Gegendruckbremse) to allow them to perform safely on such lines. The system pressurises the cylinders with compressed air, locking them to prevent the loco from rolling.
