Lenz O Gauge Railway
Lenz O was launched to fill a gap in the German market. Historically Gauge 1 has been the scale of choice for larger models and O gauge was largely limited run, hand made brass models.
Lenz are a DCC manufacturer so O scale gave them an opportunity to demonstrate the technology they had developed and have control over the finished product. 1:45 scale was chosen as this was closest to the 32mm track gauge and it would be a clean start for a Ready to Run range. By keeping the range entirely DCC, Lenz were able to fit more features as the electronics could be custom made for each model rather than designing an analog model with modular Digital add-ons.
