Based on the Königlich Bayerischen Staatsbahn (K.Bay.Sts.B.) GtL4/4 Superheated steam, 2 cylinder, mixed traffic tank locomotive. The Bavarian administration of the DRG ordered 108 improved locomotives from Krauss in 1921.  Most were handed over to the DB and retired during the mid 1960s.
