The articulated car, known as TWIN I, was the answer of the wagon rental company AAE to the question of maximum flexibility in combined cargo transport. The 34 m long wagons can accommodate 40- and 20-foot containers, as well as crane-mounted semi-trailers. Due to the particularly deep drawn tubs, the six-axle axles are even suitable for loading with modern megatrailers in contrast to the previous designs. To fix the semi-trailers, the wagons have support blocks at the ends. These remain on the wagon, even if containers are loaded on the next trip. The support beams for container transport are also always on board and store above the central bogie when not in use. Compared to the disc-braked versions, the block-braked car has a payload three tons higher. The maximum permitted speed is empty 120, loaded regardless of the route classes 100 km/h. The wagons are also used mixed with other types of combined cargo transport. The doors of the containers can be opened and give the view of the detailed interior.
