PtL2/2
Prototype Information
Designed for one man operation by the Royal Bavarian State Railway, the PtL2/2 was intended for branch line services. A Superheated boiler increased efficiency and coupled with a gravity fed coal hopper the loco could be operated just by the driver. The large cab gave them the nickname glass box (Glaskasten). Large running boards with handrails all around allowed safe access to the coaches. The KM-1 models represent the 1908 Kraus built locomotives with jackshaft drive - 29 were constructed in this format.
