The loco can negotiate curves down to 420mm radius - Fleischmann R2, Roco R3, Peco R2, Hornby R2. Fitted with a 21-pin decoder interface for easy conversion to DCC. Fitted with an ESU LokSound V4.0 sound decoder with 24 controllable sound functions. Based on the Br50 the Br52 was simplified to speed up construction and cheaper materials were used as they were never intended to be long lived. In all around 6,700 were manufactured. The low, 15t axle load and their simplicity meant that they were surprisingly long lived - Austria kept them until 1976 and Poland still had locos operating in the 1990s. The SNCF recovered 42 Br52 Steam locomotives after the war and renamed them class 150Y. They mainly ran in the East of France and were serviced at the following depots; Hausbergen, Mulhouse-Île-Napoleon, Mulhouse-Nord, Sarreguemines, Sarrebourg and Thionville. They were fazed out by 1959. 150Y3697 was a former DRB machine 52 3697 Manufactured in 1943 by Krauss Maffei with simplified Witte smoke deflectors, 32Y tub tender and small stone guards mounted on the front Bissel truck.
