Roco 73078 SNCF Serie 231E Steam locomotive EpIII. HO In Stock
The 231E were designed by Andre Chapelon for the Nord company in the mid 1930s. A total of 48 were constructed for high speed express services. The four cylinder compound design was very efficient - Andre Chapelon had specialised in getting the best economy from his locomotive designs and to use the steam as efficiently as possible. In general service the loco were limited to 130km/h (80mph) but under tests had reached 178km/h (110mph)
